Like essays, teachers, and schools, tests come in all shapes and sizes, types and times, and preferences and methods. Some people love tests more than essays, while others would rather spend hours writing an essay than thirty minutes taking an exam.
The following are the main types of tests given in school and by the education testing centers:
* Multiple Choice
* Fill in the Blank
* Essay
* Matching
* Mixed
* Standardized
Given the numerous amount of tests and style of tests, you will inevitably discover your favorites and your strengths. Because of your persona insight to the testing style, you will study more or less for a specific type of test.
Here are some general guidelines on how to prepare to take a test in each style:
* Multiple Choice
With multiple choice tests, there is a method behind all testing techniques. It is important to remember that the correct answer is always within the answer choices. It is up to you to find that answer. Consequently, you prepare for multiple-choice tests by going over as much information as possible. Multiple choice tests allow for a wide variety of information to fall in the questions. You must be careful not to be tricked. Therefore, process of elimination is the best outlet.
* Fill in the Blank
Fill in the Blank tests are exciting, but less widely used passed high school. In these types of tests, you will not be given any information for the answer. Rather, you must know the information and put it in the blank space on the paper. The positive side of this type of testing is that it is not designed to trick you. The negative side is that you cannot simply "guess" and pick a random answer with a 25% chance of certitude. The best way to study for this type of test is by using flashcards.
* Essay
Essay tests are the favorites style of testing for writers, humanitarians, and more verbose students. They allow you to describe and explain the information you know as best you can. If you forgot a specific word or phrase, but still understand an idea or technique, you can write the explanation in an essay. However, be wary of writing around the subject. Writing around the subject in an essay is when you are unsure of the specific answer/topic, and consequently write a lot of other words just to fill in the space, hoping that the teacher will find something important within the essay. However, the problem with this style of essay writing is that teachers and graders can recognize a student's essay as knowing information or sort-of-knowing information. If you write thirty sentence about a subject and only one of them hits the bulls eye target, then your essay will not be scored well. The best way to practice for this type of an exam is to write practice timed essays. Sit down and write an essay about a single topic so that you have practice with the structure of the essay and the timed format. Nothing is scarier than sitting down on a test day and writing an essay for the first time.
* Matching
Matching tests are favorites of many people as they tend to be on the easier side. Like multiple choice tests, all answers are in front of you. You do not have to create information in your head or write a dissertation on a topic. You simply have to choose from the information given to you to see if it is correct. Be careful in matching tests because they are often designed to confuse the test-taker. Usually, one column has more options than the other, tricking the test-taker into selecting incorrect answers. Practice, again, is the best way to study and prepare for this type of test. Practice on old multiple choice tests and practice with flashcards.
* Mixed
Mixed tests combine all of the above styles of assessment. Review the previous techniques and combine them in order to find preparation aid in a mixed style of test. Mixed testing is a growing trend in schools today, as it allows all students to find success in at least one method of study.
* Standardized
Standardized tests are multiple choice tests, however, they come in an entirely new category. BookRags has several guides on each type of standardized test that can help you in your process of testing.
Remember, testing is a vital element of assessment and comes in various forms. Trying all of them will give you the opportunity you need to find your best method of assessment. Regardless of your strengths, you will inevitably need to develop the skills in each of these categories. Testing is a part of education. You will need to take and pass tests in order to advance to the next level. for more tips visit my other blog http://contain-etiquettes.blogspot.com/

How to survive tests!!
1. Get all test requirements ready beforehand – permits, relevant information (such as time, venue, and prospective changes in the test day), test day materials, and so on. This is to avoid all unnecessary and avoidable hassles when you are there and all prepared for your test.
2. Set your mind to never cheat. Just think about the costs of being caught, not to mention its effect on your dignity, reputation, and future.
3. Plan your personal study strategy. Set up a study area. Consider customized techniques depending on whether you can concentrate more with or without music, with things perfectly neat and organized around you or not, and such. Just make sure to make and keep with a regular schedule for your study periods.
4. Gather review materials. Sort out the most relevant ones to the less helpful ones. Get your hands-on information you think you still lack or need to know more about.
5. Have a peer review and/or join group study sessions. Discuss class lectures. Clarify lessons. Compare and share notes. Motivate each other to study.
6. Read, read, and re-read. Yes – at least three times. The first try is to familiarize yourself with the text and rule out misinterpretation; the next one is to understand your readings fully; and the last is to memorize. In fact, this is one of the rules in making your group studies successful – doing your own work in order to contribute.
7. Organize. Make your own notes. Make a reviewer for quick glance studies whenever and wherever you are.
8. Test your knowledge bank (I). Try to rewrite a copy of your original reviewer. Later see which details you have missed.
9. Test your knowledge bank (II). Try to recite your study notes from memory. No peeking!
10. Mock it. But not testing on a real copy of the test. Create your own mock test paper from your reviewer. You will be thankful for this additional review. Same process, same timing – recreate the same test venue atmosphere. Gather yourself. Imagine yourself taking in the pressure on the real test day – and succeeding in the situation.
11. Condition. Keep your health in great shape. Buffer yourself against self-inflicted nerve-wrecking and mental blocks. Adjust your habits at least one week before the test day. Get good rest, eat properly, and stay in a great mood always.
12. An exam day regimen: Dress comfortable but appropriately (if it’s not appropriate then you probably would not feel comfortable in it, right?). Finally, eating a protein-rich concentration-booster breakfast or taking a trusted prescribed memory-boosting supplement probably won’t hurt.

you were. . .
you were my sunshine
but now your gone
Away From My Heart
my world is now lifeless and full of darkness
i know it's not the end..
but there are no fishes in the seas that contain your
inner most beauty. .
endless lies fill my head
making me think it's possible . .
making it spark once more
now. . that i know forgetting you is the hardest,
confusing and most painful thing I'd ever do. .
here i say. .
I'd rather die a thousand deaths rather than to forget you
with my consent. .

. . . .PAST. . . .
everyone knows i like you
but what i know is i liked you. .
you were in my dreams
but you were never part of it. .
you can see me everyday
but not the one who liked you. .
you meant too much to me before
not till i gave-up once more
they think you're close
but i think you're light-years away
well i just liked you anyway why'd i even care
i felt something but i guess it was not for
you nor for anyone else. .

forgetting you is. . .
everyone knows its not easy
what i knew is its impossible
but then you knew it was just that simple
days pass by, but the pain will never subside.
the endless pain of acceptance, acceptance? yes
acceptance, the one that you'll never be in my life.
the acceptance that you can't and must not love me.
as well as the one of letting you go.
i know i sad i LOVE you but now its i lovED you.
which means my love for you is history. the one that can never be
found for study nor to be remembered.
(sorry i can't post the others tonight!! i'll post it all tomorrow promise!!)
